The three crosses on the back are for good luck and come from the coat of arms of the city of Amsterdam. Amsterdam got her name from a “Dam” in the river Amstel (“Amstelredamme, est. 1275). Nowadays Amsterdam is also known as a denim city, AmsterDenim XXX. “DUIF” is Dutch for Pigeon.
